PRODUCTION
The Antonini Firm presents the new home cutlery line composed of a range of articles, refined and inspected piece by piece, which is characterized by a very modern and catchy design; all these knives are available with Ayous multilayered and colored wood. This line was made with ECO-FRIENDLY materials because our duty is to safeguard the planet we live in and future generations, COLORED because we all need colors in our days, DIVI because our family history teaches us that nothing is more important than values, the desire to restart sharing our emotions with family, friends and with all people who make us feel good!
The steel is cut according to the blade model and tempered to toughen the steel. The blade edges are then rounded off on one side with the grinding stone to reduce the thickness, consequently sharpened and finished. Once the blades are polished or satin finished, they are assembled to the different models and types of handles, and are then sent to the quality control; here they are checked one by one by expert personnel.
HISTORY
Maniago is a small city located in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of Northeastern Italy. Our valley had water and iron and most probably these were the two main elements that gave way to the tradition and production of blades and knives during the Roman Age, and in subsequent years the territory was under the region of the Venetian Republic and the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Our city is renowned all over the world for its production of knives, an activity which started around the 15th century due to its proximity to the city of Venice. During that period work began on the making of halberds for the army, while in subsequent centuries production became more varied; presently, within the municipality of Maniago, kitchen, hunting, sports knives are produced, along with industrial blades, gardening scissors and corkscrews.
In 1929 Antonio and Luigi Antonini founded their artisan business for the production of knives from Maniago, creating their products individually with attention to quality and efficiency. And these are still the principles that, even today, inspire the Premiata Fabbrica Coltellerie and the work of Mario Antonini and his son Pietro. The Antonini family maintaining the handmade craftsmanship with love and devotion through the years, with the aim to produce unique and incomparable items.
