PRODUCTION

A production that is completely handmade and that nowadays remains alive in very few places, the scus (workings of the corncob leaf) had a great success and demand until a few decades ago. Today there are still several artisans from the Val del Torre area (in the province of Udine) who carry on this tradition and offer marvellous creations.

Corn-husk comes from local plantations where the harvest is still manually carried out for not damaging the leaves. This work needs a lot of experience and careful selection. This is why this handicraft is really an unicuum.
