Set of two Harlequins completely handmade in corncob husk. Multi-color harlequin like the original Italian tradition.

Harlequins in corncob husk is perfect as decorative object during Carnival period and as original gift idea. The figures handmade in corncob husk are a typical friulian object, born form the local experience of working with the leaves of the corncob. Every piece is handmade so it is impossible to recreate the exact colours of the image.

Height: around 6 cm. Possible imperfections or minor differences of the product compared to the photo indicate the high craftsmanship of a handmade product.

It is recommended not to wet the product, to avoid damaging it.

HISTORY

A production that is completely handmade and that nowadays remains alive in very few places, the scus (workings of the corncob leaf) had a great success and demand until a few decades ago. Today there are still several artisans from the Val del Torre area (in the province of Udine) who carry on this tradition and offer marvellous creations.

La Cort has chosen to offer these articles because they are deeply characteristic of the peasant economy of past times and yet at the same time have evolved so that they also offer objects for everyday use.
