Legatoria Ciani was founded by Giuseppe Ciani in 1942; specialized in binding books and in the bookmaking, the workshop was then carried on from her daughter Giovanna Ciani, who opened the first shop in Udine and then in Colugna, the actual location. As a family enterprise enters the third generation: Paola Mattiuzzo, the daughter in law, with her cultural background and experiences, decided to learn this job and from 1998 she is carrying on the activity alone. The handmade products as well as the attention to recycling and the original gift ideas are still main characteristics of Legatoria Ciani.
