The principal characteristics are the clear face, the red lips and the rosy cheeks, holes for the eyes and mouth, and the well polished and precisely painted wood.<\/p>\n<p>The Carnival of Sauris (Der Zahrar Voschankh) has had considerable influences from the German and Alpine world, and has developed very well defined characters that lead the event, having similar characteristics to the carnivals of Sappada and other alpine areas.
