Matarane card game
Matarane is the name of a limited edition card game for playing Briscola, one of the most famous card games in Italy.
Matarane card game is made up of 44 cards. A pack of original cards signed by over than 40 Friulian illustrators and designers: they come from the Province of Pordenone, Gorizia and Udine. Each of them riproduced a single card for this special version. Some of the authors are: Gianluca Buttolo, Gianluca Maconi, Pia Valentinis, Sara Colaone, Giacomo Michelon, Fabio Varnerin, Massimiliano Gosparini, Dree Venier, Paolo Cossi, Emanuele Bertossi, Francesco Tullio Altan.
A reinterpretation of the classic briscola with 44 original collection cards. Differently from the original Trevisane cards, there are 4 additional cards (4 additional aces) at player’s choice.

The item comes packed into an original blue carton box. Matarane card games are in the limited edition of 1000 pieces.
The Mataran project has been developed by David Benvenuto and Marco Tonus, the team of the local satirical magazine Mataran, which comes out every six months in Friuli Venezia Giulia. They are the inventor of this new limited edition project which has been introduced in April 2019.
The traditional cards usually used in Friulian context are the “Trevisane”. The original game foresees 40 cards for Briscola, the famous and traditional card game of north east Italy especially well-known and played in the Friulian context.
